Why do I write with invisible ink?
Why wallow in this my passionless fate,
A rainbow of dreams I'm forced to rethink,
Where pragmatic voices gently dictate?
T'was love at our first encounter back then
A true partnership none else would equate.
Which well-meaning sense praised time and again
Yet detoured to paths more verdant and straight.
For Life took it's time to whisper the truth:
That poverty will contentment negate.
While tarrying at the crossroads of youth
Weak I was to heed what old wives would state:
The heart's choices paint not one's future pink.
That's why I write with invisible ink.
A sonnet about unrealized dreams, that we sometimes go down a road for reasons other than those of the heart.

I for one was dissuaded from pursuing a career in music and in graphic design and urged to take on a more 'practical' field. Sigh...

I can really relate to this great job, never settle for anything less than your dreams practicality is another
word for (living an unfulfilled life).
